Following the exhibition opening, inaugural lectures were held by art historian Katy Siegel, curator of the exhibition, and Geeta Kapur, art critic and curator; two of the preeminent experts in postwar modern art. The lectures were followed by a roundtable discussion with Chika Okeke-Agulu, Associate Professor of Art History at Princeton University, and editor of „Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art“; Ulrich Wilmes, curator of the exhibition and chief curator of Haus der Kunst; and Okwui Enwezor, curator of the exhibition and Director of Haus der Kunst.
