In association with the William Kentridge exhibition WHY SHOULD I HESITATE: PUTTING DRAWINGS TO WORK, Deichtorhallen Hamburg has organized a digital symposium with the following topics: William Kentridge’s significance and influence on artists today, post-colonialism and memory culture. Further topics are changeability, melancholy, and the driving force of music in Kentridge’s work. A tour through the exhibition at Deichtorhallen Hamburg and a studio visit with William Kentridge in Johannesburg are also part of the conference (partly in German and English language).
